Resolved: Campus Data Center Power Outage - Many CAEN Services Down - 2/18/2017

UPDATE: 10:00 a.m., Sunday, 2/19 - All CAEN services that were down because of the power outage yesterday are now functioning again.


UPDATE: 4:00 p.m., Saturday, 2/18 - CAEN Windows lab machines are back up and operational.  Remote Desktops and Linux systems are still experiencing problems.


A campus data center power outage occurred at 9:41 a.m. this morning. Power has been restored, but may CAEN and campus IT services are unavailable. CAEN staff are onsite working to restore services.

Services that may be impacted include:

  • Remote access to CAEN Windows computers via midesktop.umich.edu
  • Access to CAEN software library on both Windows and Linux
  • CAEN Windows and Linux home directories
