The CLSE for Linux will be updated on January 5, 2015. Staff access to some software applications on the CLSE for Linux will change to be consistent with the changes put in place this past August for the CLSE for Windows. The original news article about this update is available at the College's News Center: http://goo.gl/eg0gJe

College of Engineering staff will continue to be eligible to log into CAEN computers that run the CLSE for Linux. However, some software applications will no longer be available for staff use. This change is necessary to adhere to software licensing agreements that restrict use to instructors and students who are performing coursework and research toward a degree. For a list of software titles available for staff use on CAEN computers that run the CLSE, please refer to the CAEN software listings:

College of Engineering staff who need access to a CLSE software title not on one of the above lists may request access by completing the online software access request form at http://goo.gl/Urh0lK. Note that staff who previously requested and were granted access to restricted software applications will be able to run them on both Windows or Linux with no additional request necessary. CAEN will then review the license terms for the requested application and grant access in accordance with license terms and availability.

If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact the CAEN Hotline at 734-763-5041 or caen@umich.edu.
