- Start: Friday, July 19, 12:40 a.m.
Starting Friday, July 19 at around 12:40 a.m., the Crowdstrike security software used on Microsoft Windows systems at the University pushed an update to computers and servers that caused many of them to crash. This includes many CAEN-managed systems, such as CAEN computer lab and EBD staff computers. PCs that were asleep or turned off when the update was pushed out should be fine as the update was recalled by Crowdstrike at 2:48 a.m.
IT teams across campus are working on fixing systems that are impacted by this outage. If you have a computer that is impacted, please reach out to your local IT support staff. In most cases, IT staff will need to be physically present at the computer to fix the problem.
Further information and updates about this outage can be found on the ITS Service Status page.
