Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, direct walk-up and phone support are limited. See below for how to contact a CAEN consultant via email or live chat.
Before submitting your question to a CAEN consultant, you may want to try finding your answer by searching the CAEN Knowledge Base.
The CAEN Help Desk
The Help Desk is the College of Engineering’s main computing and IT support contact on North Campus. Consultants are available to answer your questions about accessing CAEN computer labs, Engineering software, and other U-M computing services. If a consultant cannot answer you question or problem directly, they will ensure it is submitted to the correct CAEN or U-M support team.
You can call the Help Desk at (734) 764-CAEN . If no consultant is available, you may leave a voicemail, and a CAEN staff member will respond as soon as possible. Please make sure to clearly spell your U-M uniqname.
Chat with a Consultant
To open a Live Chat session with a Help Desk consultant, you can open a browser tab, or click the Blue button in the bottom-right corner of the page. If no consultant is available, you will be prompted to submit an offline message, and the next available consultant will contact you at the email address you provide.
