Flexible Learning Space Scheduling
For the flexible learning spaces with movable furniture, maximum capacities can differ depending on the layout and usage. Full room details can be found in the Michigan Engineering Room Reservation system. Note: Please note that if you are scheduled in one of these classrooms, you could find the furniture in any layout. So, prepare to have your students set the layout that you would like.

Room Equipment
- To get started here is a brief overview of the presentation control systems and A/V equipment in CAEN-supported classrooms is provided below:
- All rooms listed above have the following:
- All classrooms provide lecture recording services, including a wireless microphone for presenting. The microphone will amplify your voice in the room, regardless of if a recording is being made.
- A new Lecture Rewind feature is available to students starting Fall 2022.
- All rooms offer the ability to live stream lectures via Zoom via on a computer located at the instructor lectern.
- Document cameras are also available to enlarge and present documents to students via the displays in the room.
- All classrooms have whiteboard capture that can be enabled as part of lecture capture.
- All classrooms provide lecture recording services, including a wireless microphone for presenting. The microphone will amplify your voice in the room, regardless of if a recording is being made.
- When presenting, setting your laptop or tablet to the native resolution of the HD displays (1920 x 1200) will give the sharpest image, but other resolutions will work. Available connections include HDMI, VGA, and Apple AirPlay.
- Each room has a Crestron display panel that includes a “Report Problem” button. By pressing this button it will indicate to on-call support that there is a problem related to the standard operation of the classroom equipment. Staff are available to assist you Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.
- Non-urgent requests related to classroom equipment can be emailed to caen@umich.edu.
- We are not able to accommodate additional specially requested equipment, features or functionality in these spaces. This includes requests such as having additional microphones available.
- CAEN consultants are available to assist you in finding alternatives or workaround when existing standard classroom feature sets cannot accommodate pedagogical technical needs.
